Depart La Paz AM, visit hamlets, adobe chapels, chullpas (pre-Inca burial towers), & alpaca herders on way to 21,420-foot Nevado Sajama & Sajama National Park. Hot springs, snow-capped peaks, Sajama Volcano. Overnight in refuge. (B,L,D)
Day 2 (Thu):
Enter Chile at Tambo Quemado (14,660'); Lauca National Park, Vicuña & alpaca herds, flamingoes, giant coots. Exquisite colonial chapel of Parinacota. Afternoon to Bolivia campsite, evening hot springs & breathtaking Milky Way view. (B,L,D)
Day 3 (Fri):
Snowcapped volcanoes; Adobe hamlets with sacred lines drawn to nearby mountains; Flamingo lake; smoldering Chilean volcano & brief hike on Sajama Volcano; rare high-altitude Polylepis trees, cacti, & yareta. La Paz late afternoon for night. (B,L)
Day 4 (Sat):
Morning trek around Sajama volcano for photos, fresh air, and hiking before return journey through Andes toward La Paz; visit small Andean villages before reaching La Paz. Evening free for markets & relaxing dinner. Night at Hostal Naira (B,L)
